On Site Activites

Enjoy a refreshing swim in our spring fed pond while the kids can enjoy playing on the sandy beach. The pond is stocked yearly with trout so make sure to bring your fishing poles. Children love spending hours catching frogs and salamanders in the pond. There are volleyball and badminton nets set up next to the beach. Kayaks and a row boat are available at the office. For the outdoor adventurers there are trails for hiking, walking and biking. There is a ping pong table in the pavilion area and a horse shoe pit very close. There are also playgrounds for the children located near the lower bath house. In the evening enjoy a campfire and make sure to kick back and relax.

Off Site Activities

AMUSEMENT PARKS:

Six Flags Great Escape/Splashwater Kingdom, Magic Forest, and Waterslide World all about 25 minutes away in Lake George.

BOATING:

Rent kayaks and canoes just 2 miles up the road in Corinth and have them dropped right across the road in the Hudson River, or transported a few minutes up the road to smaller lakes. Outings can include box lunches. Rent boats or take a cruise on Lake George. You can also bring your own boat and launch close by at a couple of spots on the upper Hudson River, Lake George or Sacandaga Lake plus other numerous small lakes in the area.

BIKING:

There are beautiful rides both on and off road in the area.

GOLF:

There is nothing more spectacular than golf at some of the Adirondack courses in the area. Our closest and most reasonable is Brookhaven, only minutes from the campground. A notable public course is the Saratoga Spa Golf Course which is in the historic Saratoga Springs State park area. If you are looking for the premier golfing experience, then you might be looking for the Saratoga National Golf Club or The Sagamore golf club in Lake George. There are many more courses in the area so make sure to bring your clubs.

GROCERIES/GAS/SHOPPING:

Just 2 miles North of the campground on Route 9N is the town of Corinth, with Tops Grocery store, 3 convenient stores, liquor store, 3 restaurants, Subway and Adirondack furniture and gift stores. Saratoga Springs offers fine dining and a wide variety of shops. Lake George is also a tourist hot spot.

HIKING:

We border Adirondack Park, so the hiking possibilities are endless. You should be able to search on-line for Lake George, Southern Adirondacks, Hadley areas, etc. Closest hike would be the Spruce Mtn. hike which has an old ranger tower at the top. Another recommended hike would be Buck Mountain with a great view of Lake George.

HORSEBACK RIDING:

Stables and outfits in the area for horse back excursions.

MUSIC & CULTURE:

Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) is the summer home of the New York City Ballet, the Philadelphia Philharmonic, and hosts many other musicians and national tours throughout the summer months. Visit the historic Fort William Henry in Lake George or the Saratoga National Battlefield.

RACE TRACKS/GAMBLING:

The Saratoga thoroughbred track is probably the main attraction for Saratoga Springs and is open for approx. 6 weeks running from late July through Labor Day weekend. The other track in town is the Harness Track, which runs year round, and has also recently added “Racino” with video slot machines. You can also visit the horse racing museum to learn about the history behind the races.

SWIMMING:

Additional off site swimming can be found nearby at Lake Luzerne or a little further away at Lake George. There is Million Dollar Beach for a fee or the free public beach in town.

If you have any questions feel free to ask at the office and we will do what we can to help make your stay more enjoyable.
